Why Makai?
" Makai " is a Hawaiian word that comes from the union of "ma" (toward) and "kai" (sea), and literally means " toward the sea ." But in Hawaiian language and culture, the term goes beyond a simple geographical direction.
Makai evokes a natural, almost spiritual call: it's the side of the heart turned toward the ocean, the breath of the wind, the rhythm of the waves. It's the movement of the soul seeking freedom and harmony. On the island, saying " let's go Makai" means going where the sea commands, where the land opens to the infinite horizon.
A powerful symbol: not just a place, but an invitation to let yourself be guided by the wind, to find your balance on the water, to follow a direction that is both a journey and a return.
